The Clifford Realty
Home Selling Process
STEP 1
Consultation & Home Value
There's no commitment required on your part for the initial consultation. We’ll help you determine the asking price for your home and identify next steps.
STEP 2
Prepare Your Home
We will help you view your home through the eyes of the buyer and offer some useful suggestions on how to prepare your home for sale.
STEP 3
List Your Home for Sale
When everything is in place we’ll put your home on the market. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for potential buyers to view your home.
STEP 4
Offers & Negotiations
Once presented with an offer (or sometimes multiple offers), we’ll negotiate with the buyer and their agent until everyone feels like it’s a win-win situation.
STEP 5
Under Contract
At this point, you and the buyer have agreed to all the terms of the offer and both partners have signed the agreements to move the transaction forward.
STEP 6
Final Details & Closing
While under contract the buyer will work with their mortgage provider to finalize the loan. The transfer of funds and ownership happens at closing.
What’s Your Next Move?
It's Time to Right-Size Your Lifestyle

Before You Sell
Improve your home's value with updates
Evaluate the main structures of your home and take care of any pressing problems, such as leaking pipes, cracked windows, or other concerns that could turn off potential buyers.
Consider your home's curb appeal
By investing some effort into relatively easy fixes, like planting colorful flowers and repainting your front door, the outside of your house can beckon prospective buyers to come on in.
Declutter all living areas
Clearing the clutter throughout your home will help it look more appealing to potential buyers. It will also help you stay organized once you've accepted an offer and it's time to move into a new home.
Depersonalize your living space
Buyers need to be able to visualize their family living in the home. Removing distractions such as personal items and family photos helps to make your space more appealing to the general public.
Make your home smell pleasant
We recommend preparing for a deep clean. Invite an unbiased third party over to try and detect any pet smells or lingering odors in your home. Foul odors, even slight ones, can be a deal breaker.
Perform a deep house cleaning
When selling your home, it's important to keep everything tidy and have your space spotless for buyers. You never know when a buyer is going to want to schedule a last-minute tour.
Hide your valuable posessions
Take care to hide valuables or move them to a safe place away from your home. Sometimes things disappear during an open house, and there's little the seller can do to get those things back.
Consider staging your home
A home stager will evaluate the current condition of your home and your belongings to determine what elements might inspire potential buyers. Staging your home will help it sell quicker.
